Observatory "Kamenskoe Plateau" is an astronomical observatory founded in 1947 at the Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute. In 1948, Gavriil Tikhov headed an independent institution - the astrobotany sector of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR - and founded his own observatory.

The Sunkar International Ski Jumping Complex is ski jumping center in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It's located in Gorniy Gigant District in the southern part of the city at an altitude of 900 metres above sea level in a unique place where there is almost no wind. Sunkar is situated 3½ km northwest of Kamenskoye plateau.
