  • Inscription: “岔道城位于八达岭镇岔道村，地处关沟古道的北侧入口，为居庸关之门户，八达岭之藩篱。又名“三叉口”，明初称“永安甸”。历史上岔道有二路：一自怀来卫、保安州，历榆河、土木、鸡鸣三驿至宣府，为西路；一至延庆州、永宁卫、四海冶，为北路，路由此分，故名“岔道”。城修筑于明成化九年（1473），明嘉靖三十年（1551）、隆庆五年（1571）补修并将城墙包砖，设守备一员，把总一员，隶属于宣府南山路。明清两代有永乐、宣德、康熙、光绪、慈禧太后等在此驻驿。城平面类似舟形，周长1300余米，城墙高8.5米，山石条、城砖包砌而成”
