Diocletian’s Palace

Diocletian's Palace is an ancient Roman palace and fortress complex in Split, Croatia. It was built at the end of the third century AD by the Roman Emperor Diocletian as his retirement residence. Diocletian’s Palace is situated 1½ km east of Marjan.

The gallery preserves and presents to the public the most significant works of Meštrović, and is in itself an art monument. Ivan Meštrović Gallery is situated 400 metres west of Marjan.

Sustipan is a small peninsula located in the southwestern part of Split. In Middle Ages there was a Benedictine monastery and a church. In the 19th century one of the most beautiful cemeteries of the whole Croatia was built in Sustipan. Sustipan is situated 400 metres southeast of Marjan.
