It was the home of the well known children's author and Jesuit priest Jón Sveinsson; also known as "Nonni". Nonni’s House is situated 1 km northeast of Naustagata.

Hrafnagil is a small village in Eyjafjarðarsveit, northern Iceland, which in 2016 had 260 inhabitants. The village has a school and a community center. The area has access to high-temperature geothermal heat, which is used to heat houses and greenhouses. Hrafnagil is situated 10 km south of Naustagata.
