Kaukajärvi

Kaukajärvi is a Finnish lake in the city of Tampere, Pirkanmaa. The lake is 3.2 kilometres long, 950 metres wide and covers an area of 143 hectares. Its average depth is 12 metres and the maximum depth has been measured as 23 metres.

It was located along the Tampere–Haapamäki railway, and its nearest open stations are Tampere in the southwest and Orivesi in the northeast. Linnainmaa is a district of about 6,000 inhabitants in the eastern part of Tampere, Finland, about six kilometers from the city center. Tampere's eastern bypass borders Linnainmaa in the west, and Highway 12 in the north. Linnainmaa is situated 3½ km west of Lemetty.
