Canacona, historically known as Kanvapura, is a city and a municipal council in the district of South Goa, Goa state, India. The Canacona taluka includes Patnem, Chaudi, Poinguinim, Loliem-Polem, Agonda, and Gaumdongre. Chaudi is the headquarters of its taluka. Canacona is situated 3 km southwest of Shristhal.
