A glacial erratic is a glacially deposited rock differing from the type of rock native to the area in which it rests. Erratics, which take their name from the Latin word errare, are carried by glacial ice, often over distances of hundreds of kilometres.Photo: Steve Partridge, CC BY-SA 2.0.

The Muschelkalk is a sequence of sedimentary rock strata in the geology of central and western Europe. It has a Middle Triassic age and forms the middle part of the three-part Germanic Trias lying above the older Buntsandstein and below the younger Keuper.
