Hongik University station is a station on Seoul Subway Line 2, AREX and the Gyeongui–Jungang Line. As its name indicates, it serves the nearby Hongik University. Hongik University is situated 180 metres north of Opticlife Hongdae.

Sogang University is a private Jesuit research university in Mapo, Seoul, South Korea. Sogang University was established on April 18, 1960 by the Society of Jesus, with the school being the oldest and only Jesuit institution of higher education in the country. Sogang University is situated 1½ km east of Opticlife Hongdae.

Hongdae is a neighborhood in Mapo District, Seoul, South Korea, near Hongik University, after which it is named. The neighborhood is known for its urban arts and indie music culture, local shops, clubs, cafés and entertainment.

Seodaemun-Mapo
