National Museum of Prehistory
The National Museum of Prehistory is a French institution founded in 1918 by Denis Peyrony in the commune of Les Eyzies-de-Tayac, in the Dordogne. Most notably, it is the site of the discovery of anatomically modern human remains, apparently buried at the site, dated to about 28,000 years ago. Cro-Magnon rock shelter is situated 590 metres northwest of National Museum of Prehistory.
