Petrapilosa Castle

Pietrapelosa is a castle in the Croatian part of Istria, now ruined. In the medieval period a family took their name from the castle. "Pietrapelosa" comes from the Italian words meaning "hairy stone" after the moss that has always grown on the walls of the castle.

Karli is a small settlement in the City Municipality of Koper in the Littoral region of Slovenia close to the border with Croatia. Its relative isolation has resulted in its population moving to larger settlements and there are no permanent residents left. Karli is situated 4 km north of Trkusi.
