Hayq or Haik is a town in northern Ethiopia. It is named after Lake Hayq, which lies two kilometers east of the city and is the home of Istifanos Monastery, an important landmark in Ethiopian Church history.- Type: Town

Istifanos Monastery is a monastery in Ethiopia, located in Lake Hayq. The church structure was built around the 9th century by the Aksumite king Dil Na'od. Istifanos Monastery is situated 3½ km northeast of Hayq.
