Lord Byron School

Lord Byron School №20 is a public school in Gyumri founded in 1990, following the 1988 Armenian earthquake that devastated the city, by funds provided by the British Government as well as donations raised by the British people. Lord Byron School is situated 2 km southeast of Sakharov Square.

Independence Square is a large square at the centre of Gyumri city, Armenia. It is the second square of the city after the central Vartanants Square. The square is intersected by the streets of Khrimian Hayrik, Garegin Nzhdeh, Alex Manoogian, Sayat Nova Avenue and Tigranes the Great Avenue. Ankakhutyan Square is situated 3½ km south of Sakharov Square.

The Hovhannes Shiraz House-Museum was founded in 1983 in the Kumayri historic district of Gyumri, Armenia, and opened in 2003. The museum is devoted to the exhibition and preservation of the Armenian poet Hovhannes Shiraz's personal belongings, manuscripts and works. Hovhannes Shiraz Home and Museum is situated 4 km south of Sakharov Square.
