The Great Market Hall or Central Market Hall, Market Hall I is the largest and oldest indoor market in Budapest, Hungary. The idea of building such a large market hall arose from the first mayor of Budapest, Károly Kamermayer, and it was his largest investment. Great Market Hall is situated 210 metres southwest of KAADAN CO.

Known until the communist period as the ‘Magnates’ Quarter’, it consists of the most westerly part of the city's Eighth District, or Józsefváros, which was named on 7 November 1777 after Joseph II, Holy Roman Emperor and Archduke of Austria, who reigned 1765-1790.
