Metaxourgeio

Metaxourgeio, also known as Metaxourghio on signage, is a station on Athens Metro Line 2. It opened in January 2000 as one of the 7 first stations of line 2. It is located west of Omonoia Square.

Parthenon

The Parthenon is a former temple on the Athenian Acropolis, Greece, that was dedicated to the goddess Athena. Its decorative sculptures are considered some of the high points of classical Greek art, and the Parthenon is considered an enduring symbol of ancient Greece, Western civilisation, and democracy. Parthenon is situated 1½ km south of Metaxourgeio.

Platonic Academy

The Academy was founded by Plato in ca. 387 BC in Athens. Aristotle studied there for twenty years before founding his own school, the Lyceum. The academy persisted throughout the Hellenistic period as a skeptical school, until coming to an end after the death of Philo of Larissa in 83 BC. Platonic Academy is situated 1¼ km northwest of Metaxourgeio.

Metaxourgeio or Metaxourgio, meaning "silk mill", is a neighbourhood of Athens, Greece. The neighbourhood is located north of the historical centre of Athens, between Kolonos to the west and Plateia Vathi to the east, and north of Kerameikos.
