The Lyceum was a temple in Athens dedicated to Apollo Lyceus. It was best known for the Peripatetic school of philosophy founded there by Aristotle in 334 BC. Lyceum is situated 440 metres south of Oikeio.

The museum was founded in 1986 in order to house the collection of Cycladic and Ancient Greek art belonging to Nikolaos and Dolly Goulandris. Neapoli is a neighborhood of Athens, Greece. It is located on the northern slope of Mount Lycabettus. Neapoli means 'new city.'
