It is located in the Zastler Loch northwest of the Feldberg summit, the highest peak in the Black Forest and state of Baden-Württemberg. Zastler Hut is situated 270 metres south of An der oberen Bärhalde.

The Baldenweger Buck is a mountain top, 1,460.5 m above sea level, in the Black Forest around 900 metres northeast of the Feldberg summit. The bare ridge drops steeply towards the west, north and east into the surrounding valleys of the Zastlerbach and Seebach.
