Triglav, with an elevation of 2,863.65 metres, is the highest mountain in Slovenia and the highest peak of the Julian Alps. The mountain is the pre-eminent symbol of the Slovene nation, appearing on the coat of arms and flag of Slovenia.

Trenta is a settlement in the Municipality of Bovec in the traditional Gorizia region in western Slovenia. It lies on the upper Soča River in the Gorizia region, the northern part of the Slovene Littoral, along the road from Bovec up to Vršič Pass. Trenta is situated 7 km west of Triglavska vrata.
