The airport is within a broad valley of the Ecuadoran Andes, with rising terrain east and west, and mountainous terrain distant in all quadrants. Cotopaxi International Airport is situated 2½ km east of La Calera Centro.

Estadio Municipal La Cocha is a multi-use stadium in Latacunga, Ecuador. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Club Deportivo Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi of the Serie B de Ecuador, and of Club Social y Deportivo Cotopaxi and Sociedad Deportiva Flamengo of the Segunda Categoría. Estadio La Cocha is situated 4 km southeast of La Calera Centro.
