Mount Kerling is the highest mountain in the District of Eyjafjarðarsveit, in northern Iceland. It is only 13 km SSW of Akureyri. Its structure is mainly basaltic rock, but the uppermost part is rhyolite, which extends to Súlur mountain nearby and all the way around the head of the Glerárdalur valley to the lower slopes of Vindheimajökull on the western side of the valley.

Hrafnagil is a small village in Eyjafjarðarsveit, northern Iceland, which in 2016 had 260 inhabitants. The village has a school and a community center. The area has access to high-temperature geothermal heat, which is used to heat houses and greenhouses.
