Carrie Furnace

Carrie Furnace is a retired blast furnace located along the Monongahela River in the Pittsburgh area industrial town of Swissvale, Pennsylvania. It was one of the structures comprising the Homestead Steel Works.

Carrie Furnace Hot Metal Bridge

The Carrie Furnace Hot Metal Bridge is a railroad truss bridge across the Monongahela River between Whitaker, Pennsylvania, and Rankin, Pennsylvania. The bridge has been out of service since about 1982, when the Carrie Furnace closed. Carrie Furnace Hot Metal Bridge is situated 2,100 feet southeast of Carrie Furnace.
