Opened in 1878, it is adjacent to the northern portal of the Simplon Tunnel and is served by two standard gauge lines. Brig railway station is situated 1 km south of Chlosi.

Brig Bahnhofplatz railway station is a railway station in the municipality of Brig-Glis, in the Swiss canton of Valais. It is the meeting point of two 1,000 mm metre gauge railway lines of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn, the BVZ Zermatt-Bahn and the Furka Oberalp Railway. Brig Bahnhofplatz railway station is situated 1 km south of Chlosi.
