Sankt Johann Nepomuk / Asam Church

St. Johann Nepomuk, better known as the Asam Church, is a Baroque church in Munich, southern Germany. It was built from 1733 to 1746 by a pair of brothers, sculptor Egid Quirin Asam and painter Cosmas Damian Asam, as their private church. Sankt Johann Nepomuk / Asam Church is situated 400 metres east of Sonnen-/Landwehrstraße.

Karlstor in Munich is a medieval city gate, which served as a defensive fortification and a checkpoint. It is located at the western end of Neuhauser Straße, a portion of Munich's down-town pedestrian zone, which was part of the salt road and the east–west thoroughfare of the historic old town. Karlstor is situated 320 metres northeast of Sonnen-/Landwehrstraße.

Altstadt meaning "old city" is the very heart of Munich. Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt is the district of Munich immediately south and west of Altstadt, which is the historic centre. It's where most visitors arrive, as it's the transport hub, with trains from all parts of Germany, S-Bahn commuter lines from the airport and elsewhere in the city, and the central bus station.
