The Dachstein is a 20 x 30 km limestone massif in the Northern Calcareous Alps, in Austria. The summit is at 3,000 m, with dozens of other peaks above 2,500 m.

The Taubenkogel is a 2,301-metre high peak in the Dachstein Mountains of Upper Austria, northeast of the Hallstätter Glacier. It can be reached from the summit station of the Dachstein Cable Car on the Gjaidalm or from the Simony Hut.
