The tomb of Munmu, the 30th king of Silla, is now located underwater, 200 meters off the coast at 26, Bonggil-ri, Yangbuk-myeon, Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. The tomb was designated Historic Site of South Korea No. 158.

Munmudaewang-myeon is a myeon or a township in the administrative subdivisions of Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It is bordered by Gampo-eup and Sea of Japan on the east, Yangnam-myeon on the south, Bulguk-dong, Bodeok-dong and Oedong-eup on the west and Ocheon-eup and Janggi-myeon of the Pohang on the north. Yangbuk-myeon is situated 7 km northwest of Bonggil-ri.

Gampo-eup is an eup or a town of Gyeongju in South Korea. It contains part of Gyeongju National Park: the Daebon section which covers the shoreline near Daewangnueng, the watery grave of King Munmu of the Silla kingdom. Gampo-eup is situated 8 km north of Bonggil-ri.
