Maegyo Station is a subway station of the Suin–Bundang Line, the commuter subway line of Korail, and the national railway of South Korea. The station was opened in November 2013, as part of the final extension of the Bundang Line.

Ipbuk-dong is divided into two different legal-status neighbourhoods, namely Ipbuk-dong and Dangsu-dong, which are separated by the Hwanggujicheon—a stream which flows south from Wangsong Reservoir on their northern boundary with the city of Uiwang, through Suwon, eventually to Asan Bay. Ipbuk-dong is situated 5 km west of Namchang-dong.
