It is currently used on club level by owner Independiente del Valle and their reserve team Independiente Juniors. Estadio Banco Guayaquil is situated 1½ km south of Iglesia de Fajardo.

Used primarily for football, it was the home stadium of Independiente del Valle of the Ecuadorian Serie A until March 2021, when it moved to its new stadium Estadio Banco Guayaquil. Estadio Rumiñahui is situated 3 km east of Iglesia de Fajardo.
