It is located 5.4 kilometers from the terminus of the Meikō Line at Kanayama Station. Tsukiji-guchi is situated 450 metres northwest of Tsukiji Shrine.

It is a member of the Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and is the public aquarium with the largest tank capacity and total area in Japan. Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium is situated 1 km southwest of Tsukiji Shrine.
