Lake Vrana

Lake Vrana, in the centre of Cres island, is a fresh water lake, 1.5 kilometres wide and about 4.8 kilometres long. The town of Cres has been supplied with drinking water from the lake since 1953, and the towns of Mali and Veli Lošinj received their supplies ten years later.

Cres is a town located on the island of Cres which is directly off the Istrian Peninsula and in the Kvarner Gulf off the northern coast of Croatia. As of 2021, the town had a population of 2,716 inhabitants, which makes it the largest municipality on the island.

Lubenice, historically known as Ljubenice or Zubjenice, is an ancient fortified settlement on the Croatian island of Cres. It sits on a ridge 380 m-high above the Adriatic Sea and may have been inhabited as early as 4,000 years ago.
