Whalers Gate
Whalers Gate is a suburb of New Plymouth, in the western North Island of New Zealand. It is located to the southwest of the city centre. The area was allocated to several whalers in 1847, and was called "The Whaler's Gate" at least from 1860.Places of Interest

Stadium Taranaki is situated in the central suburb of Westown in New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand, with main vehicle access off Maratahu Street. Named the third best rugby stadium on earth by New Zealand Rugby World magazine in May 2009, Stadium Taranaki conforms with the International Rugby Board's "clean stadium" policy. Yarrow Stadium is situated 3 km northeast of Whalers Gate.
