Progreso is a city in the state of Yucatán, Mexico, on the Gulf of Mexico on the northwest coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. The city was founded in 1811 as a port for exporting sisal fiber from the Yucatán haciendas.

Chicxulub Puerto is situated 6 km east of Centro Vacacional Obrero CTM.
