Kyu-Iwasaki-Tei Garden

Kyū-Iwasaki-tei Garden is located in Taitō, Tokyo. It is the former estate of the Iwasaki clan who were the founders of Mitsubishi. The premises have three buildings: a Western-style house designed by British architect Josiah Conder, a Japanese house and a billiard house, and cover an area of about 17,000 square metres. Kyu-Iwasaki-Tei Garden is situated 220 metres northwest of Hankoyasan 21.

The Shitamachi Museum is a museum in Ueno, Taito, Tokyo, Japan. Located on the shores of Shinobazu Pond within Ueno Park, it is dedicated to the traditional culture of Tokyo's Shitamachi. Shitamachi Museum is situated 300 metres northeast of Hankoyasan 21.

The Tokyo National Museum or TNM is an art museum in Ueno Park in the Taitō ward of Tokyo, Japan. It is one of the four museums operated by the National Institutes for Cultural Heritage, is considered the oldest national museum and the largest art museum in Japan. Tokyo National Museum is situated 1¼ km northeast of Hankoyasan 21.

If you want to get a feel for old Tokyo, Ueno in the Taito district is a good place to start.
