History of Amity Area

- Inscription: “The original town of Amity was built at this site on the 1824 Liberty Council Bluffs Military Trail, the oldest road in DeKalb County. In 1871 the congregation built a church south of the cemetary gate. Because the people ‘dwelt in peace and amity.’”
