The Ruhmeshalle is a Doric colonnade with a main range and two wings, designed by Leo von Klenze for Ludwig I of Bavaria. Built in 1853, it is situated on an ancient ledge above the Theresienwiese in Munich and was built as part of a complex which also includes the Bavariapark and the Bavaria statue.

Theresienwiese is a public space in the Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt district of Munich. It covers 42 hectares and is best known as the site of the annual Oktoberfest. Theresienwiese is situated 260 metres east of Bavaria.

Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt is the district of Munich immediately south and west of Altstadt, which is the historic centre. It's where most visitors arrive, as it's the transport hub, with trains from all parts of Germany, S-Bahn commuter lines from the airport and elsewhere in the city, and the central bus station.
