The University of Tripoli, is the largest university in Libya and is located in the capital city of Tripoli. It was founded in 1957 as a branch of the University of Libya before it was divided in 1973 to become what is now known as the University of Tripoli. University of Tripoli is situated 2½ km southeast of Almadar.
