Almourol is an islet in the Tagus river, in the Portuguese civil parish of Praia do Ribatejo, Oeste e Vale do Tejo region. The small island lies in the middle of the Tagus, a few kilometres below its confluence with the Zêzere River. Almourol is situated 280 metres north of Miradouro do Almourol.

Tancos is a Portuguese freguesia, located in the municipality of Vila Nova da Barquinha. The population in 2011 was 243, in an area of 2.04 km2. Tancos parish is the location of an important military area that includes the Tancos Military Air Field, the Parachute Troops School and a military engineering unit.
