Tortugas Mountain Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by New Mexico State University. It is located on Tortugas Mountain, also known locally as 'A' Mountain, in southern New Mexico, approximately 8 kilometers southeast of Las Cruces and 4 kilometers east of the NMSU campus. Tortugas Mountain Observatory is situated 2,400 feet northeast of Seismic Laboratory.
