Hōki Provincial Capital is situated 3 km east of Amidaji Kofun Cluster.

It was one of the provincial temples established by decree of Emperor Shōmu during the Nara period. Hōki Kokunbun-ji is situated 3½ km east of Amidaji Kofun Cluster.
