The Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine is a faculty offering healthcare education at the University of Hong Kong, a public research university. It was founded in 1887 as the Hong Kong College of Medicine for Chinese, the city's first western medical school and one of the oldest in the Asia–Pacific region. The Queen Mary Hospital is a public district general hospital in Hong Kong. It is the largest hospital on Hong Kong Island at 1,711 beds, and is also a teaching hospital affiliated with the dental and medical schools of the University of Hong Kong. Founded in 1984 by the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation, it has 150 medical rehabilitation beds, including 20 beds for day rehabilitation service.
