The Summer Palace or Yihe Garden was built by the Chinese Empress Cixi as a pavilion for quiet retreat. It is a vast ensemble of lakes, gardens and palaces in Beijing. Summer Palace is situated 1¼ km south of Beigongmen.

The Marble Boat, also known as the Boat of Purity and Ease, is a lakeside pavilion on the grounds of the Summer Palace in Beijing, China. It was first erected in 1755 during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor. Shi Fang (Marble Boat) is situated 1 km southwest of Beigongmen.

The University of International Relations is a public university in Haidian, Beijing, China. The Institute for International Relations, later translated into English as Institute of International Relations, was established in 1949 by the first premier of the People's Republic of China, Zhou Enlai, to train diplomats. University of International Relations is situated 750 metres east of Beigongmen.
