The Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, commonly referred to as HNK Zagreb, is a theatre, opera and ballet house in Zagreb. Located on the centre of Republic of Croatia Square, it is the oldest Croatian theatre institution, officially opening on November 24, 1860. The theatre opened on October 30, 1954 as the successor of "Helios" cinema which was founded and financed by Croatian industrialist, Adolf Müller. Gavella Drama Theatre is situated 100 metres southwest of Duško Sudar.
