Asparuhovo is a district of Varna. It is located in the southern part of the town and has a population of 27 000. In the district are located the Institute of Oceanology and the Bulgarian Ship Hydrodynamics Center, both part of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Asparuhovo is situated 3½ km northwest of Галата Център.

Varna is a large city on the Black Sea coast in the northeast of Bulgaria. It's the larger of the country's two major sea ports, and a gateway to the seaside resorts on the northern part of the coast.
