The capacity is 12,040 of which 4,340 seated, making it the fifth largest ground in the country. Niko Dovana Stadium is situated 1½ km west of Market Ylviu.

Construction began under the emperor Trajan in the 2nd century AD and it was destroyed twice by earthquakes in the 6th and 10th centuries.
