Sankt Johann Nepomuk / Asam Church

St. Johann Nepomuk, better known as the Asam Church, is a Baroque church in Munich, southern Germany. It was built from 1733 to 1746 by a pair of brothers, sculptor Egid Quirin Asam and painter Cosmas Damian Asam, as their private church. Sankt Johann Nepomuk / Asam Church is situated 180 metres northeast of Oma’s Köstlichkeiten.

The Sendlinger Tor is a city gate at the southern extremity of the historic old town area of Munich. It served as a fortification for defence and is one of Munich's three remaining gothic town gates.

Sendlinger Tor is an U-Bahn station in the city center of Munich at a junction of the lines U1/2/7 and U3/6 line of the Munich U-Bahn system. It was opened on 19 October 1971 and 18 October 1980.

It's where most visitors arrive, as it's the transport hub, with trains from all parts of Germany, S-Bahn commuter lines from the airport and elsewhere in the city, and the central bus station.

Three gates are all that remain of the medieval defensive walls, but within is a well-preserved district with many of Munich's iconic sights: twin-towered Frauenkirche, New City Hall with clockwork figures dancing to the chimes of its Glockenspiel, and Hofbräuhaus that temple to drinking and gorging.
