Operated by the Kyushu Railway Company, it is the main railway terminal serving Kagoshima and is also the southernmost high-speed Shinkansen railway terminal in Japan. Kagoshima-Chūō Station is situated 260 metres west of Kagoshima Chuo Terminal.
