It is located at the junction of the standard gauge Neuchâtel–Le Locle-Col-des-Roches line of Swiss Federal Railways and the 1,000 mm gauge Le Locle–Les Brenets line of Transports publics neuchâtelois. Le Locle railway station is situated 1½ km east of Les Frêtes.
