Sandur is a village on the south coast of the island of Sandoy in the Faroe Islands. The Sandur hoard of silver coins, dating to the end of the 11th century, attests to the long history of the village. Sandur is situated 4½ km south of Slavansdalur.
Kirkjubøur

Kirkjubøur is the southernmost village on Streymoy. The village is the Faroes' most important historical site, with the ruins of the Magnus Cathedral from around 1300, Saint Olav's Church, from the 12th century and the old farmhouse of Kirkjubøargarður from the 11th century.
