University
The University of Tripoli, is the largest university in Libya and is located in the capital city of Tripoli. It was founded in 1957 as a branch of the University of Libya before it was divided in 1973 to become what is now known as the University of Tripoli.

Abu Salim prison is a maximum security prison in Tripoli, Libya. The prison was notorious during the rule of Muammar Gaddafi for alleged mistreatment and human rights abuses, including a massacre in 1996 in which Human Rights Watch estimated that 1,270 prisoners were killed. Abou Slim Prison is situated 3½ km west of Al Hadba Al Badri.
