Bunagana is a town in the Western Region of Uganda. It sits across the international border from the similarly named town of Bunagana, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Bunagana is situated 2½ km northwest of Ruhango Church of Uganda.

Bunagana is at the far western edge of the Kivu region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, just over the border from a tranquil and hard-working region of Uganda. As of October 2022, it was under the control of the March 23 Movement rebel militia.
