La Gamba is a village in the Guaycará District of Golfito canton, which is part of Puntarenas Province of Costa Rica. Village inhabitants are employed in agriculture and in jobs offered in cities such as Golfito and Rio Claro. La Gamba is situated 4 km west of Los Gemelos.

Golfito is a port town in South Pacific Costa Rica. It's across from the Osa Peninsula on the Golfo Dulce. Golfito has long been known to surfers as the gateway to Pavones, just to the south, and to sport fishermen as the year-round sport fishing destination.
