The station was built along the line as part of a connection to Hohen Neuendorf from the rest of East Berlin after the previous one was cut off by the Berlin Wall. On 13 August 1961, the S-Bahn line to Oranienburg was cut off by the Berlin Wall, and it was only from Hohen Neuendorf to Oranienburg as a shuttle and a lonely, not connected line. Hohen Neuendorf station is situated 2½ km southwest of Arthur Magnor.
